The Birthday Party
Menacing strangers on a mission.
by Harold Pinter.

The critical hammering given to 'The Birthday Party' on its London debut in 1958 threatened to destroy Harold Pinter's career. Yet his 'comedy of menace' survived its early traumas to be hailed as a classic. Also classed as an example of the 'Theatre of the Absurd', the play centres on Stanley, a former piano player who lodges at a boarding house in an English seaside town. One day two strangers arrive on a mission - and turn Stanley's birthday party into a nightmare.

Starring Damien Barber (vocals / guitar /concertina); Bryany Griffith (fiddle, vocals); Will Hampson (melodeon, harmonica); Lee Sykes (electric bass); and Ben Griffith (drums).
