Walking tours cost: adult £4, child £1.50 and Go4less £1.50
Tour starts at 11:30am or 2pm and is available on all the days of June,
July and August. Telephone for September and October.

The ancient settlement of 'Northwic' was first
recorded in Saxon times. Over a thousand years later the city has survived
the Norman invasion, rebellion, plague, fire and war. A brief plunge into
the people and events which made Norwich the second greatest city in
England.

Absolutely nothing to do with Monty Python (well almost nothing) but an
eclectic mix of old and new, historical and cultural, as you walk around the
Castle mound. |

'A Pub
for every Day of the Year' - (Forum) - Norwich was once home to
over 700 pubs. This tour takes you round some of them, exploring their
names, origins and the thingt that went on in them (not necessarily about
the beer!). |

City Hall and Clock Tower tours
Starting point:
City Hall Reception at 11am

Explore the stunning 1930s with its art deco styling and
furnishings. Tour includes the ceremonial suite with their original fittings and
the magnificent council chamber, as well as a trip up the 206 foot high clock
tower, giving an unmissable birds eye view of Norwich.
Restrictions: There are 066 steps to the top of the clock
tower - suitable footwear must be worn and no one with a heart condition or
similar should attempt the climb. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Guildhall and Crypt tours

By far the largest guildhall outside of London, this impressive
flint building with its striking checkerboard facing, stands on the north side
of the marketplace. It retains many of its original medieval features as well as
a panelled Georgian Court room and 12th century crypt.

St Andrews and Blackfriars Halls tours

This complex of medieval religious buildings is often described as 'the only
English friary to survive intact from the medieval period'. The tour includes St
Andrews Hall with its beautiful stained glass and stunning vaulted roof,
Blackfriars Hall with its famous portrait of Nelson, as well as the crypt,
cloisters and anchoress' cell.

Start Point: Cathedral, Erpingham Gate
A tour aimed at children - a costumed guide will reveal the
gruesome underbelly of life in 'olde norwych' with a few tales of witches,
dragons and ghosts thrown in! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
